It seems like we’re always creating something new for paper mills, whether we’re restoring, replacing, or building new contraptions like this South and North Separator Water Collection Tank.

We manufactured this one for Domtar’s new A1 Fluff Pulp Project in Ashdown, Ark. It’s not easy to build since it can’t afford to leak and the welding takes lots of precision, time and skill to do accurately.

The inside of the tank has three deep chambers as well as two shallow chambers, each with a V-notch (a device that has been used for thousands of years to measure water flow) and water flowing into the main chamber.

Ultimately, this collects water for vacuum boxes. It works perfectly for “white water” since there aren’t any parts to plug. The tanks also come with labels that show how water flows through the tank.
